Start Guide

Welcome to EM-OS! This guide will help Engineering Managers and Leaders take their first steps with the platform.

Access the URL provided by your administrator and sign in using one of the following methods:

NOTE

For the first-time use, you may need an "Invitation Link" issued by your administrator.

2. Onboarding Process

After logging in, complete the following three steps to unlock all features of EM-OS:

Create Profile: Set up your photo, role, and brief bio. These can be automatically retrieved via GitHub/Google integration.
Join a Team: Select the team you belong to from the organization chart (Topology Map).
Initial Skill Check: Select your current proficiency levels based on the skill ladder. This initiates expectation alignment with your manager.

Once onboarding is complete, try checking out the following information:

View Personal Dashboard: On the Home page, get an overview of your skills, allocations, and upcoming schedule.
Review Team ADRs: Check important organizational decisions in the Technical Management section.
Report a Bug: Use Bug Hunter to report any issues you find. You can earn points and badges while contributing to the organization.
Track Project Progress: View current milestones in the Gantt chart within the Product Management section.

Once you are comfortable with the basics, try using these advanced features:

Create Objectives (OKR): Link your personal goals with team or organizational goals.
Prepare 1on1 Agendas: Post topics you want to discuss ahead of your next 1on1 session.
